Our Ethos:

At Little Acorns we provide an environment that offers a calm and nurturing place where children thrive and become Explorers, Discoverers, Learners and Innovators.

It is our job as Early Years Educators to inspire and nurture an inquisitive mind in every child and build strong relationships and secure attachments to ensure our children feel happy, safe, unique and valued.

We recognise that each child is unique. From the very first home or nursery visit, we begin the process of getting to know each child’s individual stage of development. Our own observations, along with Parent’s observations, allows us to establish a clear starting point for each child’s development.

Once we have a child’s starting point we have a foundation to build on. Through our carefully planned environment that supports children’s exploration and curiosity, Educators observe and play alongside children to further their learning ‘in the moment’ so that the learning is purposeful and relevant to the child’s current interests and next steps. Areas for focus are identified for each individual child and are incorporated within their play with their key person and/or in group activities.

Each day we provide opportunities to support children in all 7 Areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is balanced with free play indoors and outdoors where children can choose their own play activity, moving around freely, making choices and building and developing their own friendships.

As each child progresses through nursery they grow in confidence in preparation for that all important first day at school.

Our “Open Door” policy invites you to come in and look around at any time or if you would like to book a specific time, please call us on 01772 696 288.

      Parent Feedback

Little Acorns Nursery receives amazing feedback from parents. Here’s what just a few of them had to say:

Hi! Just to let you know Jessica loves nursery and we’re really happy with everything she’s doing. Your staff are lovely, friendly and patient; it’s clear they have good relationships with the children in their care. We like the themed activities that Jess takes part in. Having Jess on rotation as a focus child is a great way of involving us as parents in not only finding out what she’s been doing throughout the week but also involves us in her learning, and helps us to consider next steps for her development.

We like that the children spend a lot of times outdoors and that you use more natural materials to engage the children in imaginative play. Thank you for everything you do and for all of your hard work. Jess loves it!

I feel little acorns provide outstanding childcare for my child. They take pride in the environment they provide and the activities they do with the children. It always feels inviting and staff are always very friendly and approachable. They provide excellent feedback each time I collect and they are always able to contact if ever I need them. My little boy has recently transitioned room and they provided brilliant information and allowed my child to do as many visits as needed so that him and myself felt comfortable with the transition.

They always feedback on their observations and future plans and welcome my input always. I always feel informed of any events or changes through the newsletter, Facebook or their new app which has been a really good addition.

Myself and my husband are very pleased with the progress lily has made while at little acorns. She has made brilliant relationships with the staff who always seem to take a genuine interest in her. The staff are a credit to little acorns, they are always caring and nurturing towards her and are able to answer all of the questions that we have. They are very approachable.

Lily says that she really likes the outside area of nursery as well as playing. We are always impressed with what lily eats at nursery as she has always eaten food there that she refuses to eat at home, I don’t know how they do it!

Just want you to share how happy I am with little acorns support and care for Archie he has really settled into the pre school room and he has come on loads with his development and confidence. He tells me how he enjoys coming and playing with his friends, he also has something positive to say about all the girls that look after him on a daily basis even the girls who don’t look after him they all give him time and make him very comfortable.

Archie also like all the home cooked food he will generally have seconds sometimes thirds of dinner and tea which I am extremely pleased with.Just want to say a big thank you to the nursery for being wonderful and supportive towards Archie and his family.

      We are also a kindergarten & pre-school.
